It's rock and roll. And sometimes it gets a little weird.
Nude Furniture is the brainchild of Tulsa, OK native Neil Dirickson. Now active as a live band for the first time since 2014, there's an all-new lineup and new music brewing…On drums is Matt O'Meilia, with Ron Morgan on bass and Peter DeLesDernier on keyboards. Described by beloved Springfield, MO producer Lou Whitney (R.I.P.) as “crunchy midwestern jangle pop,” the Furniture sound encapsulates elements of psychedelia, power pop, Nuggets-style garage rock, and even roots rock.
From the age of 3, Neil knew he wanted to be a musician. He formed his first band The Termites at age 14 in Collinsville, OK and went on to study music at the University of Tulsa. Inspired by the likes of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Who and The Velvet Underground, he began writing songs at a furious pace and recording them on his Fostex 4-track. Through the 90s Neil never let up, distributing cassette after cassette of original music to his friends and other curious parties. Eventually in 1998 he began recording under the name NUDE FURNITURE and today, in 2025, eight albums exist…most are available for download or streaming in all the usual places. Neil writes the songs and performs all the instruments 98.3% of the time.
Fun factoid: The 3rd Furniture album ‘Antidepressants’ was nominated in 2003 for a Spotnik Award in the ‘best local album’ category in the Tulsa World.
As for now, the 9th Nude Furniture album is in the works. In the meantime, get in touch through this site for more information…and check out the signature sound of Nude Furniture!
